decision making

I have made an important decision. I want to only take classes that I am interested in and no more wasting my money and time on what is not relevant. It occurred to me earlier today that this mistake was already made by a significant person in my life and I should learn from it and move on.

Yesterday I discovered a company in San Francisco whose designs I have admired and have been inspirational to me. I didn’t know until then that the same group of people were behind all these amazing ideas but was so excited to discover it. My mind was racing.
All I want to do is create! and to learn! and I do not need to be bogged down by those who are unsupportive. It made me think about all aspects of what I was doing in school and helped me to figure out what I want. Now it’s time to rework my fall schedule!

My life is taking amazing turns and I really trying to take the time to enjoy the moments and the special people that I share them with. I am so happy! A year ago if someone told me the circumstances of my current life I would not have believed them. I felt then that I had come to a turning point but would have never imagined the possibility of any of this. I should keep up with my list of ten things because I have a lot to be grateful for.

what I have been watching

Watched Spaced and Flight of the Conchords all the way through. Both are very funny and you need to watch them if you have not yet.
Hot Fuzz: hilarious as always! Fun to watch after Spaced. Simon Pegg is brilliant.
Started Dexter but after a few episodes I chickened out. I did enjoy it a but it was too creepy for me.
Casino Royale: liked it but it was also the only real Bond film I have seen. The other I’ve seen was Casino Royale from the sixties that was a spoof.
Surf’s Up: cute animated penguins that surf! I especially enjoyed “the Dude’s” voice.
Amelie: my favoritest ever! I love Audrey Tautou! The soundtrack is one of my most played albums.
Leon (The Professional): cool film. Natalie Portman was way young.
V for Vendetta: awesomeness! Second time seeing it and love it. A little depressing but yet inspiring.
The Bourne Identity: really good film. Matt Damon rocked in this one. It was actually my first time seeing it and the next two are deck. Also now want to see Run Lola Run.

my ten things

I found this great word press site called 10 Things and it inspired me this spring break to be reflective and remind myself how damn fortunate and happy I am!

What I have been doing as of late:
• Lots of homework. In all classes. Sometimes doing it over and over again. Currently designing comps for two different websites.
• Learning crazy techniques in Printmaking. First relief printing where I cut into linoleum. Second metal plate etching that develops in acid.
• Learning to draw the human form with the help of nude models in Sketching.
• Playing Magic: the Gathering. Not very much I am afraid but I did participate in a Kamigawa tournament last weekend here at Cloud 9th.
• Hanging out with lots of friends. Have had many visitors and house guests and it has been awesomely fun.
• Riding my new bike. It has not been raining this week so I have been able to enjoy it. The seat stays wet but other than that it works great.
• Trying not to get sick! I slept like thirteen hours last night. I guess that I really needed to rest. maiki made sure that I drank some Emergen-C.
• Registered for Fall classes. Crazy I know, it seems so far in the future. I am signed up for Screenprinting, Book Arts, Digital Imaging and Digital Arts.
• Eating lots of good fruit. I went to the Berkeley Bowl market where they have the largest produce department that I have ever seen. It is like an inside farmers market. Yay for cheap, delicious organic fruit! _
