Strong beer in San Francisco

Today maiki and I visited the Magnolia Brewery in the Haight. This week they celebrated both strong beer month with 21st Amendment and SF beer week. Together maiki and I drank the six featured strong beers and ate delicious vegetarian foods. As always it was an excellent experience and we met some awesome folks. We would love to return before the end of the month and bring Justin along. Also we need to visit 21 Amendment to finish the strong beer tour. ^_^

happy socks

I really enjoy fun colored socks. Happy socks are tempting me to purchase lots of socks from them because they seem like a good company and that means a lot to me. I have had a hard time as of late purchasing underthings because that requires me going to a real store (not second hand) and finding goods that are well made. It hasn’t been easy. Most of my socks are from the Gap and I don’t shop there anymore. All the other places that I have been to the socks seem boring or poorly constructed or both. I think that I am going to try to buy socks online and test my luck.

Karl Blossfeldt

Sunday I took a walk over to Fourth Street here in Berkeley and visited Castle in the Air, a favorite shop full of imagination and creativity. They are offering books now and I found Taschen’s book on Karl Blossfeldt.

Karl Blossfeldt (June 13, 1865 – December 9, 1932) was a German photographer, sculptor, teacher and artist who worked in Berlin, Germany. He is famous for his close up photographs of plants.

When looked at close up the subjects take on a whole new identity.
