We visited the Flax art store to attend their pen fair. It was really an enjoyable time. maiki and Judy both purchased pens and ink. They use fountain pens that have converters so that one can refill their pens ink. This is a big advantage because one does not have to keep tossing out plastic ink cartridges.
The pens all wrote beautifully and are much smoother than my beginner nib that I bought for calligraphy years ago. I may also want to level up to a fancy fountain pen one day as well. They made my handwriting look beautiful. 🙂
In addition to neat pens Flax has gorgeous art supplies. We all had so much fun writing and drawing and experimenting. I love that Clover brought her own small journal in her pocket to write and draw in.
I have been taking Emma to school in the morning and picking her up each afternoon. It has been quite cold and we wear all of our layers. On the walk to school we see turkeys on the walk home we see cats. It is a good time to chat and hear about her school days.
Some Saturdays we hang out with Judy. This particular afternoon in Temescal we showed her our favorite places, like the reuse store, Baggu store and Ruby’s Garden. We had just made snickerdoodles cookies and eaten quite a few so we had to skip Curbside Creamery.
We had such a great day and Emma was ecstatic about the wind and the ribbons and the whole adventure. We really tired her out. ^_^ Judy’s post about our day at the Berkeley Marina is a must read. Be sure to check it out!
