Concerts in the park every Sunday.
Went on many walks with Emma and dates with maiki.
I saw a Ruth Asawa exhibit at the SF MoMA!
And visited the Yayoi Kusama Infinity Mirror Room too!
I took a train to Los Angeles.
I stayed with a crazy cat and a sweet dog. Ate yummy food and drank my favorite beer. Held a new baby and hugged my family and went to the beach.
Got a new car!
Looked for whales in Pacifica.
Celebrated my birthday!
We stayed in a little beach house near the pier.
The town is small and walkable. We always visit the public libraries, local market and cafes.
These beautiful purple blooms were everywhere. And I am obsessed with all of the cypress trees.
The golf course by the ocean preserved the wetlands.
We took a lovely wet walk up the headlands.
My favorite meal was at a British Pub called Camelot. We had snakebites (Guinness and Cider) and fish and chips. It was a meal I will definitely return for.
We loved staying so close to the Pacific ocean and hearing the waves crash all night.

My favorite dream since childhood was always about whales and being at the ocean. I have always lived in California, close to the beach. I got the chicken pox before our class whale watching trip and missed out. Later my brother took me flying over the ocean to look for whales but we didn’t see any. As an adult, I excitedly took a friend from Michigan dolphin watching on a little boat with a photographer who took us around Catalina. We saw lots and lots of dolphins and tried to appreciate it through our sleepy haze from the dramamine. We also saw a whale, come up out of the water completely and splash back down. It was the most amazing thing I have ever seen!
Last night I dreamt of the whales, the ocean, and my other favorite thing-trains! It was wonderful. I should really figure out how to see whales again in real life.
I am mesmorized by the book Still: Oceanscapes by Debra Bloomfield (a fellow Berkeley-ite).
