new timbuk2 bag

I finally purchased the wool Timbuk2 bag that I have wanted for a long time. As a bicyclist it really is the best bag for me because it doesn’t get in the way or slip off my shoulder. I have never been a purse fan either and have been searching for so long for a good bag to use. The wool was a special order and almost out of stock. I went for the extra small since I don’t usually carry my laptop and it has worked out to be the perfect size for me.

I carry just the essentials: the book I am reading, iPod, headphones, cell phone, sunglasses, prescription glasses, moleskine, pen, altoids, Kiehl’s salve, camera and money.

albums designs that I really like

Pink Floyd albums always had really good photography. I had the Meddle album hung up on my wall, opened up to show the four members. Led Zeppelin’s Physical Graffitti album was so well crafted. It had little windows that were all die cut in the front.

I was fortunate when I was young to inherit by brother’s album collection. As I got older I also added to it. I had a lot of media there for a while—keeping records, tapes and CDs took up a lot of space. I really appreciate now just having the digital files stored on my computer. Sometimes although I do miss having the actual album art and liner notes, but that’s what the internet is for. ^_^

negative sandwich

Working on a fun photography assignment this week. I will be making three photographs each of three different subjects, using three different analog manipulation techniques for each subject without the use of Photoshop.

In high school I won a photo contest for submitting a negative sandwich type print. I first printed an image of my boyfriend’s profile over an image of waves breaking onto the shore. The idea behind negative sandwich is genius and so fun to play around with. Reminds me of the endless possibilities in photography.
