garden trips

Yesterday we went to toddler garden with some friends and they worked on their plot and we helped out. Emma watered everything in sight and stomped in muddy puddles. We are on the list for a garden plot of our own there and are definitely excited. Clover is great at recognizing everything that is growing around us in the garden and her favorites are by far the sunflowers. We bought some from the Farmers’ Market last week and she has enjoyed taking them apart and classifying all their parts.

I found this plant in with the rhododendrons and it is my inspiration for my next watercolor. It is pink and green and has beautiful white blossoms. So lovely. ^_^

Library story time and toddler garden visits

We discovered the toddler garden last week (its part of the Lake Merritt Gardens) and Emma loves the Little Tyke rocking toy. This time she found garden gnomes, that she calls goblins (from watching so much Little Bear), a little cat figure and a colorful pinwheel. Its fun to show her the squash, tomatoes, grapes and beans that are growing on vines all around. On Saturday there is a meet up there to talk about ladybugs in the garden. Sounds like fun!
