Monarch in chrysalis stage, in cocoon at the gardens, hanging from a redwood tree.

For reference this what the caterpillar looked like before in the larvae stage. Hanging out with milkweed, the plant of choice for monarch butterflies.

Monarch that came from the cocoon!

Monarch that came from the cocoon! Found a couple days later right above cocoon, moving slow.
