Tokyo 07

39° and bundled up!

At the Shinto shrines the Inari foxes are adorned in red.

One of the coolest things about Tokyo is that Konbini (convenient stores) and markets are always close by. You can buy roasted sweet potatoes for a dollar or two, as well as other delicious prepared food like rice balls, sushi, sandwiches, steam buns, etc. Having a walking around sweet potato is so wonderful. Emma and I always have one.

Akihabara is fun place for a gamer to shop. Emma has purchased 2 Amiibo so far on this trip.

Stores like this common.

There are lots of used games to buy but only some have English options.

First bowl of soba! I have been eating a lot of udon. 🙂

Our soba was ordered from this machine. We found places to sit and picked up the bowls when the number was ready. My bowl was under $5 and it was amazing.

We were happy and surprised to see characters from an older anime we enjoy in a Gachapon machine.

I always appreciate the lights in the evening.

Aiko Fukawa stationary at Itoya.

Calico Critters are a big deal here.

We were happy to try the chocolate croissant and melon pan at the Muji cafe.

The ceiling in the Ginza station is quite low! maiki was cautious to not hit their head on hanging signage.

The art wall of this platform is so cool

Coffee filled vending machine on the train platform. There are highly specific options for water, cream & sugar!

In the evening we visited the Laundromat. It was easier than expected because we could wash and dry all of our laundry in one machine!

This coffee bar is also a teaching center for coffee.

I loved visiting the Japanese Postal museum! They have stamp collections from every country!

In the Chiba Institute of Technology section of Sky Tree maiki and Emma created fireworks displays.

We ate dinner at this wonderful restaurant. My udon was so very yummy and had citrus peel in the broth that hightened its flavor.
