an easy bread recipe

I have been making a new bread recipe that I found on 101 Cookbooks. It is an easy recipe to put together and only rises for thirty minutes. It uses one cup each of white flour, wheat flour and oats. I make it with a little goat butter and since it contains honey it is even better with a bit on top when you eat it. I am so glad to have found this recipe and make a couple times a week now.

Making all the bread that we eat came about when we decided to stop buying foods in non-recyclable plastic packaging. Bread was one of the items that I decided I had to start making at home. This recipe really is all that we want from our bread. It tastes better, feels more substantial and costs so little in time and money. So happy that we have continued on with this journey!

  1. I am going to try this recepie with our GF flour and see how it turns out. The Bobs Red Mill 1 to 1 baking flour behaves almost identical to normal flour, which is really handy.

      1. It depends! Oats themselves are GF, but often they are produced in a facility that also handles flour, so it can often be contaminated. Luckily, Bobs Red Mill products have a big range of things they can safely say are GF, since they have a big section of their facility that is a dedicated GF area.

We are really lucky in that our home is 10 min away from the actual, real Bobs Red Mill! We can buy tons of stuff in 25lb bags, and the savings is astounding.

I am going to attempt this bread this weekend, I’ll definitely update this with the result. 😀

        1. That is so wonderful that you live near Bob’s Red Mill an that they have so many GF options. So excited to hear how the bread comes out.
