This park is popular with runners, an activity people in Japan enjoy because it is flat and safe.

It was super cold because it was 40° at dusk with wind. Not very comfortable to be out of doors.

We were forced into a very chic Starbucks with nice lights and art hanging from the high ceiling.

Overall I was most impressed with this Edo period stone foundation wall.

We visited a new to us grocery store and it had a truly impressive amount of bicycles parked near it! People love to ride bikes because it is so safe and flat.

I found a real thrift store (not like one with second hand Chanel) and bought this shirt. It is a William Morris print (I think) from the Victoria & Albert museum. Fun fact: I visited London when I was a kid and went to that museum. I am certain I would appreciate it much more now. 😊

Another cool thing about Tokyo is their garbage (burnable and non burnable) and recycling pick up. We walked through a neighborhood with many lots geared towards processing the city’s recycling. We loved it.

We shopped in a district called Fabric Town. It was easy to get overwhelmed by the sheer amount of fabric, with one store having five floors of it.

The exhibition called Wetlands was wonderful but the textiles really stood out to me.

This day was the coldest of our trip so far. Thankfully we found a place for hot soba.

We will definitely return to this park during the daytime. I really appreciate all of the playgrounds, parks, gardens and green spaces to that are all over this city.

One of the coolest things about Tokyo is that Konbini (convenient stores) and markets are always close by. You can buy roasted sweet potatoes for a dollar or two, as well as other delicious prepared food like rice balls, sushi, sandwiches, steam buns, etc. Having a walking around sweet potato is so wonderful. Emma and I always have one.

Akihabara is fun place for a gamer to shop. Emma has purchased 2 Amiibo so far on this trip.

First bowl of soba! I have been eating a lot of udon. 🙂

Our soba was ordered from this machine. We found places to sit and picked up the bowls when the number was ready. My bowl was under $5 and it was amazing.

We were happy and surprised to see characters from an older anime we enjoy in a Gachapon machine.

I always appreciate the lights in the evening.
