Cleaned out my closet today and am getting excited for autumn! The leaves have been turning for a couple of weeks since the Bay Area hardly had a summer. I bought a cute coat for my July birthday since it was already cool enough to start wearing it (looks like this). I love fall fashion and remembered this fun post from way back by Stephanie Congdon Barnes. Love her taste—these elbow patches are perfect!

I usually don’t get excited about jeans anymore. They are all I wear though so I want pants that fit well. These emersonmade beauties look so nice. Based on vintage pairs, these are old school real denim and have no spandex or stretch to them. They are available for pre-order now.

The Satorialist posted about the latest Junya Watanabe show in Paris. I love his take on the sailor look—so crisp and fresh despite the fact that this has become rather popular in the stores. I am a big fan of well tailored pieces, bright colors and good shoes and this collection had all of that.

I really enjoy fun colored socks. Happy socks are tempting me to purchase lots of socks from them because they seem like a good company and that means a lot to me. I have had a hard time as of late purchasing underthings because that requires me going to a real store (not second hand) and finding goods that are well made. It hasn’t been easy. Most of my socks are from the Gap and I don’t shop there anymore. All the other places that I have been to the socks seem boring or poorly constructed or both. I think that I am going to try to buy socks online and test my luck.

Gray hood showcases Dan Gneiding’s body of work, and it is so wonderful. I am sure you have seen it if you have spent any time in Anthropologie in the last year. He is the senior graphic designer for Urban Outfitters (Anthropologie’s sister company) and does freelance work as well. I have long been curious about the clothing labels that he has designed and pondered if they were all done by the same peson/firm and how I could get that job. ^_^

After seeing Coco Before Chanel I knew that I needed a tie but it wasn’t until watching Annie Hall that I finally went out and bought some menswear pieces. Diane Keaton looks so chic. Here’s my new look scored from my favorite Berkeley thrift store (tie loosened a bit after a few ales ^_^).

I like being a girl. I find pieces that I want from every section know that no matter if its from the kids, mens, womens or whatever I can make it work. I appreciate that freedom. Boys have so many more restrictions.

I really do think that the Black Apple is the most stylish artist/blogger that I have seen. She has impeccable taste and her closet is enviable. She loves antique clothing, as well as pieces from Anthropologie or hand made from fellow Etsy artists. She puts her own personal style on everything that she creates. Her Etsy shop, main site “Inside A Black Apple” and fashion weblog called “Some Girls Wander” are really a treat for the eyes.
